How To Install Evolution Compact

Rated 4.7 out of 5 by 485 reviewers.
Rated 4 out of 5 by leaky unit after only 4 years After emailing company and posting my previous review here, Insinkeratior decided to replace the unit in question no charge. Thanks. November 18, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Leaky unit after only 4 years I Completely remodeled our kitchen in 2010. I put in very nice custom cabinets and everything else was high end as well. Installed An Evolution Compact Insinkerator and installation was nice. Now after only 4 years the unit is leaking and not from any plumbing connection. The leak is from the bottom of the unit leaking through all the crevices and screw holes by the electrical wire. This is completely unacceptable as we rarely put any food down the sink and only operate the disposal after small particles are rinsed off plates. I've read peoples disposals lasting 12 to 20 years. I bought a Insinkerator because I fought they were a solid brand. I called customer service and since its 4 months out of warranty they will not honor it. They offered me a promo code to get 65% off retail price on a new unit off their website. Their super inflated price on their site is almost double what I paid for the unit at my local home improvement store! So what good does that do for me? After only 4 years of very limited use and water in my cabinets I would not recommend this brand to anyone! November 4, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by VERY Disappointed LOVE our RV ... HATE coming home to mold and mildew under the sink! We had our Insinkerator Evolution Compact installed by a professional plumber when we remodeled our kitchen in early 2008. It's worked OK - wasn't as quiet as we thought - until we came home recently to discover what was obviously a very slow leak that overtime rusted all of the metal cleaning containers (Easy Off, etc.) and WORSE, ruined the beautiful cabinetry. Just goes to show you paying well-above the average price doesn't mean you're getting a higher quality product. VERY disappointed. September 4, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Design Issue Apparently, we are not the only ones with a leaky InSinkerator (2007 version of the Evolution Pro Compact)! The rubber boot has failed on our unit as well. Problem is, I think it is also leaking internally, so replacing the boot won't fix the problem. Our cabinet bottom is also now warped because of the leak...we just discovered it. I checked online, and the AVERAGE lifetime of a garbage disposal is supposed to be about 12 years. Well, we only got 7 years. If we have to replace it, probably won't be an InSinkerator! Rated 1 out of 5 by Never EVER again At the moment I have a plugged sink because I had the nerve to try to dispose of grape vines or whatever you call them. I learned long ago that a banana is beyond its ability, but GRAPES? This may have been a good product years ago but this is the fifth problem I've had in two years. I'm calling the plumber tomorrow and having it removed. June 8, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Would not buy any other brand Great product. Better than expected. Very quiet. Very satisfied. January 25, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Goof product, it broke, you stood behind it, But, the process it get the warrenty resolved was long and difficult. long and difficult: it took 4-6 hours of phone calls over a several day period - first to phillipines, then to distributor in california, then to ......(several more) - then to racine, wis - finally resolved - it cost me some, but for being out of warranty for a few months i can accept a fee since you had no obligation to give me any discount. insinkerator will gain word of mouth advertising and a happy customer for finally solving the problem January 16, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Yes it is quiet but the cheap rubber boot failed.... We bought this garbage disposal in 2007. Easy to install and we were impressed with how quiet it was when running. Well, just under 7 years later this disposal needs to be replaced. There is something wrong with the fitting that attached to the drain pipe and it is leaking water. We didn't notice this until we found that our wood floors in the kitchen were warping due to small amounts of water leakage (came from when we run the dishwasher that drains through disposal.) Mechanically the disposal is still fine but the fitting and surrounding area is damaged so the unit is trash. January 10, 2014
